Maybe a stupid question, but I'm fairly new to this. What does "bump" mean?

Bump is just a way to make certain the message stays near the top of the list. With a ton a new messages coming on the board, a message can get dropped down the list pretty quickly. Becuase people don't usually bother going back in time too far, keeping a message up near the top is the best way to get read more often.

Are there others terms and abbreviations that are not on the list but probably should be, like:

Blinkie--coupon from one of those little boxes attached to the shelf in the store (blinking red light?!)
    IP-internet print

I'm just thinking there are a lot of new people . . . and I know I was much happier to look things up myself than . . . GASP . . . ask for help! I swear, I should have been born a guy!
